There was a time, not so long ago when I was afraid of the internet. It's true. The fear was not from getting information (I'm not THAT old)... it was from sharing information. You have to admit. There is something a little weird about opening up your world to strangers. And now, here I am blogging.
So what inspired me to do the unthinkable?
A close friend lost a loved one yesterday after a 2 year battle with cancer. He was my age and left behind 4 children. I didn't know him personally. But the day he died, I read his blog.
What a strange feeling to be reading the thoughts of someone I've never met and yet be so inspired? As I read "his story", I realized a few things.
1) Life is short. So live.
2) Whatever the problem. It's small in the big picture.
...and
3) Leave the world a better place - because of you.
I don't think anyone will read this blog. Doesn't matter. A young man I never met inspired me to share MY story. This is where it starts.

Oh Elle,
ReplyDeletethis touched me to tears. Anthony would be so proud to know that he inspired you. It seemed to be a good and cathartic outlet for him to express his feelings and his thoughts. I hope it does the same for you. I'm sure you will inspire people as well!
You did meet him a couple of times at our gigs though, didn't you? But I guess you never talked to him at any length. You would've seen what a kind and intelligent man he was. It is such a loss on many levels. Raf's Friday jam sessions will never be the same. :(
Thanks for sharing your blog. I will follow it, too. :) Will it be a personal blog or more to do with your work or both?
